OUR GOAL is fundamentally to increase the impact and effectiveness of aid through a
process of constantly monitoring integrity. The impact of aid money will only be realized
when financial leakages are sealed. To do so, donor countries must stop the practice of
tied aid and must have control of the flow of funds from inception to implementation of
development programmes.
We seek to seal financial leakages caused by corruption and inefficiency.
In recent years, legitimate questions have been raised by the donor community about
the effectiveness of aid to Africa. This has largely been prompted by the prevalence of
corruption. Corruption reduces the effectiveness of aid funded projects. Some critics
have even argued that giving aid to poor countries only assists to prop up dictators and
corrupt regimes. It is like throwing tax-payers money into a bottomless pit with no evidence
of tangible returns.
We advocate for increased donor funding.
The well being of all people in the world is a basic human right. It is the responsibility of the
rich nations to help poor countries out of poverty. Development aid must be increased in line
with the commitments of all developed countries which have pledged to increase aid up to
0.7% of their Gross National Income.
The world needs leaders of integrity and we will work to develop them.
Leaders of political, government and business institutions must be developed to value
integrity, ethics, hard work and a sense of self sacrifice for the benefit of the poor. It is
not right for a few elite to skim off the cream of national wealth and taxpayers funds from
sympathetic countries, while the majority of their own people wallow in a state of
deprivation and poverty.
